How to Prepare Yourself for the Web Development Process

The perks in hiring a professional to do the back-end website development for you are that you wont have to do the heavy lifting and you can just sit back and wait for the final result… or so you think. Just because youre not the one coding and scripting doesnt mean that you dont have a responsibility as the site owner during the web development process.
The web development can take months depending on your web design and during this time, you should prepare the following things to make sure that your website is on track:
Checklist of agreements
Have a copy of the features that you and the web developer have agreed with during pre-production meetings. You may need to add to or revise the list as you progress.
Target deadline of milestones
Get an expected time of completion for sections or features of your web design such as working links, posted graphics, contact section, etc. from the web developer so you can document the progress of your site as accurately and honestly as possible.
Give feedback
As you see how your website is coming along, take note of the things or elements you want changed or have questions with and bring them up on your next meeting with the developer.
